Hoosier Energy was first started in 1949 to provide reliable and affordable electricity to small farming communities in rural Indiana. Over the decades, Hoosier Energy has grown into an efficient generation and transmission cooperative serving more than 760,000 customers across Indiana and Illinois.
Hoosier Energy draws power from a diverse range of resources and is making strides to increase renewable energy production and distribution. The cooperative is focused on increasing the renewable portion of its production by at least 10% by 2025.
